NH woman convicted of stun gun attack on driver (AP)

CONCORD, N.H. ? A New Hampshire jury has convicted a 23-year-old woman of assault for using a stun gun on a pregnant woman during a road-rage incident.

WMUR-TV reports ( http://bit.ly/Adz7vK) the jury convicted Carissa Williams of Pembroke of second-degree assault in the attack on another female driver 10 months ago in Concord.

The confrontation occurred on an off-ramp of Interstate 93 last March, after the women yelled back and forth between their cars and the other woman _Corrine Leclair-Holler ? followed Williams' car onto the interstate.

Jurors heard Leclair-Holler's panicked voice and screams on the tape on the 911 call she placed as Williams was approaching her car and fired the stun gun at her.

Williams will be sentenced later this month.

'Hunger Games' Stars Jennifer And Josh: How They Met

Well, sort of. 'Are you sure that's when we met?' Hutcherson asks as Lawrence recalls her version of events to MTV News.

Here at MTV News, we are counting down the days until "The Hunger Games" arrives in theaters. If you've been spending any time with us recently, you know we've been keeping a close eye and ear on all the details about the big-screen adaptation of Suzanne Collins' dystopian best-seller.

Last week, we capped off a month of juicy interviews with stars Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson and Liam Hemsworth, for which all the questions were supplied by you, the fans. We're going to keep our coverage rolling with another new chat with Lawrence and Hutcherson, in which they address the hot topics of their first meeting and that infamous "chemistry read."

When MTV News asked the two obvious real-life friends to recall their first meeting, we inadvertently started a playful debate.

"When was the first time we met? I remember it like it was yesterday," Hutcherson joked.

"When was that? You were at a dance-floor something, and I came up to you like, 'What's up?' " Lawrence recalled, making motions with her arms like she approached Hutcherson mid-dance. "I freaked you out, because I started telling you that thing ... "

"Are you sure that's when we met?" Hutcherson chimed in.

"Yeah, at the SAG Awards," Lawrence said. "You were on a dance floor."

"Yeah, the SAG Awards, but we weren't dancing at the SAG Awards," Hutcherson corrected.

The two clearly had differing opinions on the meeting. They went back-and-forth on a few blurry details and couldn't even remember what color dress Lawrence was wearing at the time.

"I met you in a hot-pink dress," Hutcherson said.

"No, I met you in a white dress!" Lawrence countered.

"Same thing!" Hutcherson said with a laugh.

Since that discussion was getting us nowhere, we asked the two about their "chemistry read," the point during the audition process when the two actors read their respective roles together for an audience of filmmakers and studio representatives.

"They had hired Jennifer, and they were trying to find Peeta. I had gone in for the first round of auditions, and a few weeks later, they brought me back," Hutcherson said. "We did a chemistry read and kind of hit it off right away, I felt, for the second time, third time," he joked, playing up the foggy memories of their first meeting. "So that's the first time we got to play the characters together."

"We had tons of chemistry," Lawrence insisted with a laugh. "He was Peeta," she added of her first impressions of Hutcherson as "the boy with the bread." "I had heard the director, I had heard Gary [Ross] say, 'He is the only one who is actually Peeta,' and then [Josh] came in, and he was. He's charming and nice and sweet, like a dog licking your face."

"A dog licking on your face?" Hutcherson asked, wondering if Lawrence was paying him a compliment or not.

"It is! That's what it's like hanging out with you, it's like, 'Eeeeee!' " Lawrence said of her excitement being around the 19-year-old.

So what does Hutcherson think of hanging out with Lawrence? "Like a dog licking your face, but 'Oh, God, get this away,' " he joked. "No, it's hard to get things done when we're together. I'm amazed this interview we've gotten as many questions in as we have. We just start going and end up talking about the most random things."

"We always play off each other," Lawrence added.

"It works," Hutcherson said.

The Sims 3: Pets - PopMatters

Though there?s a rich history to simulation video games in general, the subgenre of social simulations (or perhaps more appropriately, virtual doll houses) has existed for much less time.? Though arguably introduced with Little Computer People in 1985, these kinds of games didn?t really take off until the release of The Sims in 2000.? On the surface, social simulations appear to offer a good degree of opportunity for crossover appeal.? The gameplay largely skews towards the casual.? Titles like Animal Crossing, Harvest Moon and the aforementioned The Sims generate gameplay out of a compunction to create and maintain order, stylistic customization, virtualized social interaction, and a sense of either empathy or gleeful sadism in how the player chooses to treat their virtual beings.

Despite having no hardcore element with respect to reflex or strategy, these kinds of simulation games can be remarkably addictive in that they require frequent, regular attention in order to maintain the status quo within the player?s digital community.? Given that virtual doll houses can be played satisfyingly in short bursts, they are a no-brainer for portable gaming.? Further, management games in general seem well suited to a touchscreen interface, given how UI-heavy they tend to be.? As such, it?s not surprising that the appearances on the DS by the three previously mentioned franchises were largely well received.

Although the Nintendo 3DS has sold well, particularly since its price drop, the library of quality titles for the console is still somewhat sparse.? For the past several years, Nintendo has clearly established a reputation as a company responsible for innovative hardware and high quality first and second party software.? But this same hardware innovation has led to them being somewhat eschewed by much of the third party game development industry.? Nintendo control schemes, though forward thinking and sometimes downright prescient, certainly force developers to think of new ways to approach game creation.

Since development for more traditional systems seems to lead to the release of the same title for multiple consoles, it?s not surprising that Nintendo?s systems often suffer from a dearth of quality 3rd party content.? While Nintendo normally does an admirable job of providing an example to follow, in the case of the 3DS, they clearly dropped the ball in not releasing it alongside a Mario, a Zelda, or a Metroid game.? Nintendo?s contributions to the 3DS launch lineup were little more than half-baked tech demos, and as such, third parties were left buttressing the launch of the console alone.

Given the popularity of the franchise, as well as its generally positive reception on the DS, The Sims 3, must have seemed like a fantastic launch title for the 3DS.? A new title in a series with the kind of crossover appeal that The Sims enjoys might well have pushed fans to pick up the new console.? But many titles released alongside the 3DS seemed to be more interested in hitting release deadlines than in either quality or innovative use of the new technology, and The Sims 3 was no exception.? Many noted that the game had removed far too many expected features, lacked polish and had noticeable bugs.? Further, the use of the 3D capabilities of the system was rather limited.

While the word ?Pets? is certainly applicable to The Sims 3: Pets, things are a little more complicated than that. The reality is that, coming around seven months after the release of its predecessor, The Sims 3: Pets almost serves as a mulligan for The Sims 3, fixing many of the issues that plagued that title, and providing a much truer Sims experience to 3DS owners.? As such, The Sims 3: Pets is the game that Sims fans have wanted since the console launch.

The titular pets do nominally add some variety to the experience. They provide new sentient creatures to populate your virtual doll house, and there?s something neat about your Sims interacting with pets that have their own personalities and needs.? Those looking for a more robust pet simulation experience are likely to find Nintendogs + Cats more to their liking, but that kind of simulation isn?t really what The Sims is about.

For those who like the unique brand of management gameplay that The Sims is known far, The Sims 3: Pets is hard to beat.? Keeping an eye on the basic needs of your Sims, be they human or pet, remains as oddly compelling as it always has.? As such, The Sims 3: Pets is largely successful, though its appeal may be somewhat limited. It?s hard to imagine the inclusion of pets drawing in new players who heretofore have had no interest in the series.? Longtime fans will likely have some fun with the pets, though it?s clear that they don?t add a dramatic amount of depth to the mix.? However, when, all is said and done, however, The Sims 3: Pets is the best available option for playing the addictive series on the go.

Xbox 360 adds Crackle and CinemaNow to list of up and running apps

You can't deny one of Microsoft's main goals with its revamped 360 dashboard update was to enhance the box's entertainment attributes, and now the Redmond crowd has flipped the live switch on two more vid-focused apps. Crackle and CinemaNow are joining the likes of Vudu and UFC as part of the latest additions to the Xbox app locker. Both apps are available now for those of us in the States, and while CinemaNow won't be heading elsewhere, Sony's Crackle is hitting three other markets: Australia, Canada and United Kingdom. There's no more info on when -- or if -- both apps will make way into more countries, but Microsoft did say that it'll "continue to enhance and expand" its Xbox Live offerings. We know you're eager to check out some Godzilla collections, so power on that console, head to the apps section and let the crackles set you free.
